Contribution to Project Transformation for Adventure Week
oject Transformation of North Texas. To combat the challenges facing students living in North Texas’ low income communities, Project Transformation provides educational summer day camps, a year-round after-school program, and a high school leadership development program. These programs, which serve students in grades 1 – 12, aim to develop each student holistically while providing them with the academic skills they need to remain on grade level and graduate from high school on time and ready for college.
Funding from DCC was used to allow 70 low-income elementary-aged children to participate in Adventure Week 2018. These children, grades 1 – 5, experienced a combination of educational field trips and on-site experiences at various locations throughout the Dallas community, over the course of one week in early August.
The kids had a blast at Adventure Week this year, and many shared experiences that may otherwise not have been available to them.
Pictured are some photos from Adventure Week 2018.
