Grant Delivery to Santa Cop, Inc. and GPPD Youth Boxing
Grand Prairie Police Department Public Safety Center to deliver grants to two outstanding organizations.
First, a donation was made to Santa Cop, Inc. Santa Cop was founded in 1985 to provide Christmas gifts to kids whose parents/guardians didn’t have the income to purchase toys for their children or who needed assistance during Christmas. Santa Cop delivered gifts to about 50 families that year. Since then, the organization has grown to provide toys and essentials (such as toothbrushes, gloves, hats, etc.) to over 1,400 kids annually. DCC is providing funding for program essentials, and also toys for Christmas delivery by Santa Cop volunteers.
The second donation was made to GPPD Youth Boxing. For several years, DCC has partnered with GPPD on this program, which creates a unique mentoring opportunity for youth in our community. The Youth Boxing program seeks to prepare young people to become successful and productive citizens by providing educational and social development activities which foster self-esteem and instill leadership attributes. The program also helps to foster better communication, understanding and mutual respect between youth, the community, police officers and educators.

A big THANK YOU to ALL of the Officers who put their lives on the line in serving our communities every day.
